3 Things These Married Retailers Can’t Live Without
Brandi and Jermail Shelton manage their marriage, kids, and Atlanta-based tea company and shop Just Add Honey. Here, Brandi shares the tools that help them manage it all.

1. One calendar to rule them all
“Apple or Google, whatever works for you, just connect a digital calendar to all the important people in your life. It helps set the tone for the day ahead — I can see my calendar, my husband’s, our company schedule, and our kids’ schedules — and gives me a bird’s eye view of the week ahead. It helps me to not overextend or overcommit.”
2. AI to accelerate
“Whether it’s just to polish up an email or to plan and prepare our strategy and marketing, we’ve learned that depending on the prompt, ChatGPT and Claude can be a real asset and make life easier.”
3. A little humility
“Some people call it ego, some call it being a martyr, but when we started the business, I never asked for help — it made it seem like I was valued. But you go into business because you’re great at something, not everything. Asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness. Letting others support you or help you take the second step is invaluable.”
