How do I categorize my transactions?

By default, we let automation do the heavy lifting. Using AI, each transaction over the last 30 days is automatically assigned a category, so bookkeeping is effortless.

You can also categorize your transactions as far back as you need, directly from your activity feed, on the web or in the app:

1. Go to Activity
2. Scroll down to the transaction you want to categorize and tap Select a category.
3. Choose an existing category from the list, or add a new one.
4. Choose how you want to apply the category:
- Assign Category Only: To update this transaction only
- Assign and Create a Rule: To update all transactions like it

For external accounts, you can view and categorize up to 3 months of history total.

If you want older transactions to show up clearly in your reports, you’ll need to categorize them manually or set up rules.
