What happens when my invoice is paid?
What happens after an invoice is paid depends on how its paid.
Payment method:
Card, PayPal, or Venmo: The invoice updates as Paid, automatically once the payment is confirmed. (If it doesn’t, check your processor (Stripe, Square, or PayPal) to see if the payment is pending or if it failed)
ACH or check: These don’t update automatically. Once the money hits your account, you’ll need to mark the invoice as Paid yourself (manual update required).
Processing times:
Card: 2–3 business days
ACH: 3–5 business days
Weekends/holidays: Processing starts the next business day
If the money is in your account, you can update the invoice status to Paid.
