How long do holds last on deposited checks?

Standard check deposits are usually placed on a 1 to 4 business day hold.

If you're depositing a larger check, the hold may take a bit longer, usually between 7 to 10 business days.

The exact timeline depends on when you submit your deposit.

If you deposit a check before 3:00 PM EST on a business day, it will be processed that evening, and the holding period will begin the following business day.

If you make your deposit after 3:00 PM EST, or over the weekend, it won't be processed until the next business day—meaning your hold period will start the day after that.
