The documents you need depend on what you’re updating.

To fix a spelling error in your business name:
Secretary of State documents (Articles of Organization or Incorporation) showing the correct name
If your name isn’t listed, include a signed and dated Operating Agreement
A photo of you holding your driver’s license or passport

To change your business name:
Amendment filed with the Secretary of State showing the old and new names
A photo of you holding your driver’s license or passport

To update your business name and type:
Secretary of State documents (Articles of Organization, Incorporation, or Amendment)
If your name isn’t listed, include a signed and dated Operating Agreement
A photo of you holding your driver’s license or passport
